Branding Techniques

Branded Corporate Gifts and clothing are a great way to get exposure for your brand. It is just as important to choose your type of branding as it is to choose the product that you will be branding. Danielle’s Embroidery cc offers many different types of branding. We can assist you in making that important decision. Below are 11 main Different types of branding techniques.

Branding

Digital Printing

Digital printing refers to methods of printing from a digital-based image directly to a variety of media. It usually refers to professional printing where small-run jobs from desktop publishing and other digital sources are printed using large-format and/or high-volume laser or inkjet printers. Photographic paper, cardboard, film, cloth, plastic, vinyl, magnets, or labels .can be digitally printed. In this instance a notebook has been printed.

Doming

In doming a sticker is equipped with a dual component resin layer(epoxy). This layer is crystal clear, protecting the image below and transforming graphics into visually appealing three-dimensional decorative items. Below the dome badge has been inserted into a keyring and in a plastic holder of Foldaway Lunch Cooler bag.

Debossing

Debossing is a process that creates an impression of a design onto a surface that allows for marks to remain once the pressure is released. This was done on a diary.

Embroidery

Machine Embroidery is an embroidery process whereby a sewing machine or embroidery machine is used to create patterns on textiles. It is used commercially in product branding, corporate advertising, and uniform adornment. It is also used in fashion industry to decorate garments and apparel. The sample below has fading or blend in the design. This is created by sewing 2 different colours on top of each other. The red has less stitches that graduate to more to get the effect of the fade.

Foiling

Foiling is a popular option for branding exclusive gift packaging. Foiling has various colours, from metallic, coloured gloss or matt finish. Foiling on different material such as paper, vinyl, ribbon, leather, plastic, velvet, ribbon, fabric and even wood makes the process so unique. This Vinyl notebook works well with foiling.

Heat press Print – Heat Transfer

A heat press is a machine engineered to imprint a design or graphic on a substrate, such as a t-shirt or caps or mugs, with the application of heat and pressure for a preset period of time. The most common types of heat press employ a flat platen to apply heat and pressure to the substrate. Below are digitally printed logos that are heat pressed onto caps for the recent elections.

Laser Engraving

Engraving is a process that requires the incising of a design onto a hard, usually flat surface, by cutting grooves into it. Metal wood and glass products are laser engraved. Below the metal USB keyring has been engraved.

Laser Etching on Fabrics

Laser etching is a process where the design is laser heated into the garment creating an indentation of the design or logo. It works best on the soft shell jacket. The final product is tone on tone and is a subtle way of branding your garment.

Pad Print

Pad printing is most frequently used with items made from hard materials, like plastic and glass. Products from the medical, automotive, promotional industry ieTumblers, water bottles, sunglasses, and pens are all great candidates for pad printing. But fabrics like cotton and leather sometimes can be pad printed as well.

Screen Printing

Screen Printing is a printmaking process based on the creation of individual screens for each colour present in a piece of artwork. .Below is a yoga mat with logo screen printed on. The texture of the mat effects the quality of the print.

Screen printing is an excellent choice if you have a large quantity of items that require a logo printed on them. Danielle’s Embroidery provides quality screen printing services for our customers, and, our services are offered to businesses, organizations and individual customers from around the world.

Many of our customers want to know what types of items can be screen printed. T-shirts and other clothing items are the most common products to be screen printed, but we can do many, many more. In fact, with the versatility of screen printing, it’s possible to use the technique on just about anything.

Here is a list of the types of items that can be screen printed:

  • T-shirts
  • Flags
  • Wood
  • Medical devices
  • Sweatshirts
  • Binders
  • Balloons
  • Signs and displays
  • Backpacks
  • Ceramics
  • Thick film
  • Sports equipment like snowboards and skateboards
  • Aprons
  • Glass
  • Electronics

From the list above, you can see that there are few limitations when it comes to screen printing. This type of process involves printing ink onto an item, and since it’s flexible and doesn’t need to be done under pressure, it can be used on items like wood, glass, plastic and metal. We always recommend screen printing for customers who have a large quantity of items that need to be done on a budget. Screen printing is cost-effective, fast, has little risk and leaves room for endless colours and designs.

Even though screen printing is adaptable, it’s best when used on items that are flat. This makes the transfer process easier and more accurate. You must also be flexible with screen printing. It’shigh quality and durable, but it won’t have the same detailed work as something that is embroidered. It’s also possible that the ink may bleed, so there are some items that are better left to other techniques.

Here is a list of the types of items that can be screen printed:

Sublimation Print

Sublimation is the process of printing a special sublimation ink onto special sublimation transfer paper using a sublimation printing technique. Instead of traditional inkjet transfers which print ink on top of the shirt or item you’re working with, sublimation ink actually becomes a part of the substrate you’re printing on. How, you ask? It’s simple. Once the ink from your sublimation transfer paper is heat pressed onto the item you’re printing on, it opens up the pores of the fabric that you’re pressing heat onto. Once you press the paper onto your item and release pressure, the heat will cool and the ink will turn back into solid form. The result? The pores will close permanently and encapsulate the ink within the polymer coating of your item. So the ink turns from a solid to a gas and them back into a solid.

We can sublimate onto materials such as a plastic, ceramics, card, paper, or fabric.

Lanyards, scarves, sports clothing are all fine examples of Sublimation.

Sublimation-Friendly Garments

When doing a sublimation print, only the polyester yarns in a garment will hold the ink, which leads a lot of people often think sublimation only can only be done on items that are 100% polyester. However, we’ve seen customers get great results on our poly-blends! When you do a sublimation print on a shirt that is not 100% poly, you’ll get a print that looks vintage or distressed—which is very popular right now. Keep in mind that sublimation inks are transparent, which means that it’s best to print on white or light colored substrates so your image is transferred properly. Benefits of Sublimation Printing

This process works wonders in our eyes because it ensures that the image you transfer onto your item won’t fade over time. The finish is also smooth, soft, and stylish because it literally becomes one with the substrate. This is perfect if you want to keep the soft-hand feel of the original garment. Another reason we love this process is the fact that it allows you to print full colour transfers and heat press them onto your shirts instead of setting up tons of screens for traditional screen printing.
